2016 Convention Interns:

DXC16-LichtMitchell Licht, Embry-Riddle ’18, is studying Aerospace Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL.

He is the current “D” of his chapter and former fundraising chairman and historian. He is very excited to be welcomed as one of the interns for Delta Chi’s 60th Convention. While not working on academics or Delta Chi business, Licht is a Peer Mentor for freshmen. He assists them in getting acquainted to college life, teaches them about what Embry-Riddle has to offer, and helps them choose classes for their undergraduate studies. After graduation, he hopes to work for either NASA or SpaceX.

Licht is excited to be a Convention Intern because he believes that this experience will be rewarding and will provide insight into the inner-workings of the International Headquarters. He is excited to learn and grow his Fraternity through this incredible experience that he is very thankful to be a part of.

DXC16-MillardDavis Millard, Kansas State ’17, is a senior studying Criminology with a minor in Political Science.

In his chapter, Davis has served as “A”, Recruitment Chairman, and is currently the “E”. On campus, Davis is a prominent student leader. He serves as an Ambassador for the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life to promote Greek life to current and prospective students. He also is heavily involved with Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity, where he serves as the Vice President of Membership and has previously served as the New Member Educator. His primary focus this year is serving as a K- State Proud Co-Chair, an elite leadership position on campus. K-State Proud is a student lead philanthropic campaign that has raised over $1 million over the past 10 years to keep students at K-State.

Following graduation in May of 2017, Davis would like to work for Delta Chi as a Leadership Consultant. Since Delta Chi has been an important part of his life since joining his freshman year, he would like to give back to the fraternity in this way. His career ambitions include law school and he would like to work as a defense attorney.

DXC16-TavaresMatthew Tavares, Case Western Reserve ’18, is a rising 3rd year nursing student at the Frances Payne Bolton nursing school at Case Western Reserve University.

He joined Delta Chi as a first semester freshman and since then has served as philanthropy chair and is currently his chapter’s “E.” In addition to Delta Chi, he is also an RA for second year students, an officer in the Filipino Student Union, and is training to be a facilitator for Diversity 360, a university program that educates students on inclusion. Ultimately, he hopes to complete his RN license and work in a hospital or purse an advanced nursing degree. He learned of the opportunity to become a convention intern from the outgoing “E” of his chapter who had been a convention intern.

Upon learning about his experiences as an intern, and the professional, social, and leadership opportunities available through the internship, Tavares saw his own potential for significant growth. He recognized not only the opportunity for professional growth, but also the chance to become an active part of the international Delta Chi community.
